After the Olympics Bronze, Wrestler Aman Sehrawat promoted to OSD by Northern Railways

The Northern Railways recently bestowed a well-deserved honour upon wrestler Aman Sehrawat. His remarkable achievement—a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics 2024—earned him a promotion to the prestigious position of Officer on Special Duty (OSD).

Aman Sehrawat’s Bronze at the Paris Olympics

Aman, a 21-year-old freestyle wrestler, etched his name in Indian sports history. His bronze medal in the 57kg freestyle category made him the youngest-ever Olympic medallist from India. His victory contributed to India’s overall success, securing the nation’s sixth medal at the Paris Olympics.

In a commendable gesture, the Northern Railway Headquarters held a meeting to honour Aman. General Manager Shri Shobhan Chaudhuri presented a token of appreciation to the Olympian for his outstanding performance. Shri Sujit Kumar Mishra, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, recognized Aman’s achievement and elevated him to the role of OSD/Sports.

Aman’s journey exemplifies dedication, hard work, and perseverance. His success resonates as an inspiration for millions across the nation. Despite losing both parents at a young age, he continued to pursue his dreams relentlessly.

Another Indian athlete, Swapnil Kusale, secured a historic bronze medal in the 50m rifle 3 positions event at the Paris Olympics. The railways rewarded Swapnil’s achievement by promoting him from a travelling ticket examiner (TTE) to an Officer on Special Duty (OSD).

Aman’s victory at the Champ de Mars Arena carried forward the legacy of the famed Chhatrasal Stadium. His triumph surpassed records, making him the youngest-ever individual Olympic medallist from India.
