Afghanistan player Najeebullah Tarakai has recently faced a dangerous accident and he is in a critical condition. It happened on Friday after he was being hit by a car while he was crossing a road in Eastern Nangarhar. However, he was taken to the hospital soon.
According to the report of Cricbuzz, the Afghanistan opener is in ICU at the moment as Afghanistan Cricket Board’s interim chief executive Nazim Zar Abdulrahimzai confirmed the news.

“Najeeb met with a road accident yesterday and he is in the ICU at the moment,” Ahmadzai was quoted as saying. “His condition is not stable and the doctor said he is critically injured and we are not sure what is in store for him.”
Notably, the 29-years-old Najeebullah Tarakai made his international debut in March 2014 and he has so far featured in 12 T20Is and one ODI for the nation as well. He has amassed 258 runs including a fifty in T20Is as well.
Apart from the international level, he has played 24 first-class matches where he has 2030 runs in his name which came at 47.20 including six centuries and 10 half-centuries as well. In 17 List A matches, he has scored 553 runs which came at 32.52 and also included a century and three fifties too.
Meanwhile, he has smashed 700 runs in 33 T20s which came at a good strike-rate of 127.50 as well. In recent times, he was featured in the Shpageeza Cricket League where he represented Mis Ainak Knights team.
Meanwhile, his national teammates Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi have been playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL). The league was earlier scheduled to take place in March but due to the global pandemic novel COVID-19, it didn’t take place.
Later, with the postponement of ICC T20 World Cup in Australia, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to host the cash-rich T20 league in Dubai, keeping the rise of positive cases in India in mind. The 53-ay tournament will conclude on November 10.
