Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot is all set to leave the Ligue 1 champions at the end of this season in order to head over to Catalonian side Barcelona. The French central midfielder’s contract in Paris runs out in June and with the La Liga side showing interest in him, an agreement between the two parties is reported to have reached.
Rabiot spent most of his professional career in the French capital having graduated at PSG’s academy. In between of bumpy spells which saw the Frenchman being loaned to fellow Ligue 1 club Toulouse in the January of 2013, Rabiot returned to Paris Saint-Germain for the following term the same year and won back to back domestic leagues from 2013-2015, appearing 46 times and scoring 6 overall. The French midfielder has made 20 appearances for PSG this term, in all competitions, and netted in twice.
Barca’s popular central midfielder Denis Suarez having been linked with a move outside of Spain to Premier League side Arsenal this month, the Catalonian club aim to find a suitable replacement and as a result, have admittedly shown interest in signing Rabiot, for a reported fee of £9m-a-year at the Camp Nou, plus an additional £9m signing bonus.
However, it remains to be seen whether the signing will take place this month or coming June, as, having entered his final 6-month period of his deal with PSG, Rabiot is set to be a free agent by the end of the season.
