After a lot of speculation surrounding the topic, Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is confirmed to join Serie A side Juventus in July later this year, as per reports in Italy. The Welshman will be departing from north London after over a decade of servitude for the Gunners.
Ramsey has agreed to join the Italian champions come summer after flirting with the options of joining either Juventus or La Liga side Real Madrid, and has signed a 5-year deal worth £36m with the Bianconeri. The 28-year old midfielder will leave the Emirates stadium on a free transfer after failing to reach terms for a new contract with the Gunners under new boss Unai Emery. With the expiry of his present deal with Arsenal in June, the Wales international was free to negotiate with foreign clubs for a pre-contract agreement beginning from 1st January.
As per reports, Ramsey will undergo a medical with Juventus on Sunday, after his agent will land in Italy to meet with club director Paratici, and the deal is expected to be finalized after their Italian Super Cup game against fellow Serie A club AC Milan next Wednesday.
Soon Ramsey will be donning Juventus’ white and black kit and the thought of playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at one of Europe’s biggest clubs seems quite exciting. The Turin based club currently sit at the summit of the Serie A and are chasing a possible 8th consecutive Italian crown, being 9 points clear of the rest.
