The Indian Badminton star Aakarshi Kashyap displayed her dominating performance on the court by grabbing the Women’s Singles title at the Uganda International Challenge on Sunday, 25th February in Kampala, Uganda. In an intense final that lasted for 48 minutes, the World No.40 defeated fellow Indian shuttler Shruti Mundada with a scoreline of 25-23, 21-18.

Indians dominated the Uganda International Challenge 2024 with as many as clinching 3 categories. In Women’s Singles, a medal was guaranteed before the final as both Aakarshi and Shruti Mundada appeared in the finals. But Aakarshi succeeded in the thrilling final with a strong finish in both the sets.
In Mne’s Singles, Indian shuttler Raghu Mariswamy failed to cross the hurdle in the final as he faced a tough challenge from Vietnam’s Le Duc Phat. Mariswamy fought hard but was unable to overcome Phat’s skill, with the Vietnamese player emerging victorious with a scoreline of 21-18, 21-14 in the men’s final.
The Indian duo of Arjun MR and Dhruv Kapila secured a decisive victory over Vinson Chiu and Joshua Yuan from the United States in Mne’s Doubles. Arjun and Dhruv dominated the match, claiming victory with a score of 21-14, 21-13 in just 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, in the mixed doubles final, the Indian pair of Sathish Kumar Karunakaran and Aadya Variyath faced off against the Australian duo of Kenneth Zhe Hooi Choo and Gronya Somerville. The match was a closely contested battle, lasting over one hour and seven minutes. In the end, Satish and Aadya emerged victorious with a hard-fought win of 22-20, 18-21, 21-19.
