Gujarat Giants emerged as champions of the Ultimate Kho Kho Season 2 by defeating Chennai Quick Guns in the Summit clash at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Cuttack. Gujarat Giants put the Quick Guns on backfoot right from the first turn in their attack. Some technical errors from the Chennai team also helped Giants to clinch the win.
Ultimate Kho Kho Season 2 Final: Giants dominated the first turn
Chennai Quick Guns won the toss and elected to defend first. Giants were off to a dream start as they got the star trio of Ramji Kashyap, Madan and Vijay Shinde just under 2 minute 52 seconds. Chennai managed only 1 dream run in the first turn as Gujarat scored 12 touch points along with 2 skydive points.
Gujarat Giants also dominated the second turn in defending. They managed to get 5 dream run points as Quick Guns managed only 6 points out of 7 minutes. Deepak Madhav and Suyash Gargate stayed on the mat for the entire turn, not allowing the opposition to surpass the lead.
Giants scored another 10 points in the third turn and extended the lead to massive 19 points ahead of the final turn. In the final turn, Chennai Quick Guns were blazing as they dismissed the first batch with in 80 secs and the next batch under 3 minute 18 secs. They also grabbed a skydive point in the course of the game.
But it was too late as Sanket Kadam achieved another 2 dream run points in the final moments, helping the Giants defeat Quick Guns by 5 points(31-26).
