Arm Wrestling is a recognized sport with a plethora of candidates pursuing the art with the hope of basking in its glory. There have been numerous personalities who have earned recognition through the sport of arm wrestling.

  1. John Brzenk

Hailing from the United States, Brzenk is widely regarded as the greatest arm-wrestler by experts and the Guinness Book Of World Records as well.

Coming from a family with a heritage of arm-wrestling, Brzenk was heavily influenced by the art by his father John Brzenk Sr. The player earned an early reputation as a “Giant Crusher” after easily being able to defeat opponents twice his size with the impressive forearm size which he claims to obtain through genetics.

Brzenk’s right and left forearm measures 16 and 13.5 inches respectively and only a few names have had the honour of defeating him.

Among an illustrious list of accolades, the  2015 World Armwrestling League right-handed Heavyweight championship stands apart.

2. Dave Chaffee

Known as “Easy Money”, Chaffee has had a rough ride to the top with numerous injuries to his hand and back proving to be a hurdle.

One of the major injuries he suffered was a broken arm which almost threatened the existence of his career, but Chaffee moved past it and went on to become the WAF World Champion just three years later.

An aspect that sets Chaffee in a league of his own is his demeanor at the table. He has managed to dominate the sport with the utmost aura of calmness.

3. Denis Cyplenkov

Holding several records in Russia, including the biggest biceps and strongest man, Denis Cyplenkov or also known as the Russian Hulk is a menacing figure.

Having a bicep measuring up to 63cm, Cyplenkov weighs 144kg and has numerous accomplishments to his name. He’s a world champion and the holder of the Intercontinental belt PAL as well.

4. Michael Todd

The innovator of the highly controversial King’s move, there is more to than just that when it comes to Michael Todd. Winning over 30 titles across national and world landscape, “The Monster” is one of the household names when it comes to the sport of arm wrestling.

Todd was forced to resort to the King’s Move where he gains height by dropping below the table. The move was given birth after 46-year-old suffered multiple fractures to his arm. The awkward style is often countered by the elite with their technique and strength.

5. Levan Saginashvili

Currently regarded as one of the best when it comes to right arm-wrestling, Levan Saginashvili got into the sport by accident after joining a gym, where his trainer encouraged him to go for it.

The Georgian began with little steps by watching videos of the sport on YouTube and eventually idolizing John Brzenk.

2014 turned out to be a landmark year for Saginashvili after securing the gold medal at the World Championships.
