While Eden Hazard happens to be yet another star signing in Real Madrid’s bid to rebuild their side, the fans on the other hand had different ideas during his unveiling.
Real Madrid are currently on a spending spree having purchased many of the star names for the upcoming season. Two days ago, the club unveiled the signing of Hazard in front of over 50,000 fans at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Having finished his medical, the Belgian forward was presented before his family and fans at the stadium wearing the club’s jersey. But at a moment where the fans should have been celebrating a new arrival, some of them started chanting for PSG’s Kylian Mbappe.
The fans were captured on camera shouting “Queremos Mbappe” that roughly translates to “We want Mbappe”.
This did not go down well on the social media as many condemned this act from a bunch of fans stating that they showed no respect to a new arrival.
Hazard on the other hand presented a welcome speech to the gathered crowd after saying ‘hello’ in Spanish.
The former Chelsea winger said that, “Thanks to the president, my friends and family. I look forward to pulling on this shirt. Since I was a young child it was my dream to play for this club. I just want to enjoy my time with this club.”
