Pakistan Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed Receives Support From Indian Cricket Fans

The captains of all the participants of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 were invited to the Buckingham Palace for a High-Tea with the Queen of Britan Elizabeth II. Prince Charles too was present at the Garden Party and was seen interacting with all the skippers ahead of the event.

An invite to the Buckingham Palace to meet the Queen is definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity and hence, all the captains put their best foot forward and were dressed in their dapper best for the event.

However, Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed stood out from the rest with him not opting for the suit and tie look that all the others adopted. Ahmed was seen dressed in a traditional white Salwar-Kameez’ over which he donned Pakistan’s signature green blazer.

The Wicket-keeper Batsman garnered a lot of praise for going with the traditional outfit and sticking to his cultural beliefs while representing his nation in an event of such big stature. Flak from a certain section of the society also followed post the pictures from the event surfaced on social media.

Interestingly though, several people from Pakistan also criticized their captain for his dressing. Whereas a lot of Indian fans backed him for his choice.
