In the recent Super 12 clash in the ICC T20 World Cup, Team India suffered a disappointing loss at the hands of New Zealand after the latter chased the target comfortably with 8 wickets still left to spare at the Dubai International Stadium. The Men in Blue failed to reach to a decent total as they only amassed 110/7 in that allotted 20 overs. New Zealand crippled the Indian batting lineup after an impressive bowling performance after opting to bowl first winning the toss.

Team India skipper Kohli revealed the two changes to the team that had lost the last match by 10 wickets against Pakistan. Kishan and Shardul Thakur replaced Suryakumar Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the starting XI. India were stumbled early on with the fall of regular wickets as they finished the powerplay at 35/2.

They struggled in the powerplay overs yet again as they lost crucial top-order wickets. Ishan Kishan (4) was removed by Trent Boult, while KL Rahul (18) was dismissed by Tim Southee. Rohit Sharma (14) was sent back by Ish Sodhi. Ish Sodhi also scalped skipper Virat Kohli for 9 runs while Rishabh Pant was soon wiped off as well.

Hardik and Ravindra Jadeja tried to shift the momentum to their favour but failed to do so. Trent Boult finished with 3-20, Ish Sodhi 2-17, Tim Southee 1-26 and Adam Milne 1-30 while Martin Guptill took 3 catches.

New Zealand coming in to bat looked confident to chase down the score. Though speedster Jasprit Bumrah showed a ray of hope for his side by removing a dangerous-looking Martin Guptill for 20 runs, the Blackcaps did not collapse. Their second wicket fell at the tail end of their chase but they managed to reach the target set by the Men in Blue.

Skipper Kane Williamson with his 31 ball 33 runs and Daryl Mitchell, who missed his half-century mark by a run, raced the Kiwis to victory in the cruch game against India.
